Les Transhumances Gîte L'Encombrette

La ferme des Transhumances, it's quite a story....

First and foremost, it's the story of generations of transhumant sheep farmers. It's also the story of a privileged site, overlooking the fortified town of Colmars-les-Alpes, with a 360° panorama of the Upper Verdon Valley. For Jean-Paul, joined by his wife Maïthé, it was a return to his roots.

In 1999 they opened 2 self-catering cottages. Farming and tourism are closely linked, and are organized according to the rhythm of the seasons. Today, the farm is home to a transhumant herd of Mérinos d'Arles cattle.

Whatever the season, they'll be delighted to show you around: the village fortifications and the Lance waterfall are just a stone's throw away, and hiking and snowshoeing trails leave from the farm... In the surrounding area, more than 1,000 km of marked trails and the ski slopes of Ratery and Val d'Allos await you. But be careful! The serenity of our landscapes could well be contagious...

** Features **

* L'Encombrette features an entrance on the east side of the building, with a larchwood terrace extending from the first floor. It is divided over two levels, connected by an internal staircase.

* Ground floor: living room/kitchen (including a 70cm sofa-bed) with fully-equipped kitchen and TV

* 1st floor: bedroom with 2 single beds (width 90cm - cannot be twinned). Access via steep staircase.

* Bathroom (washbasin, shower and WC)

* Terrace with garden furniture. Like the gîte's main windows, it faces east, offering exceptional views of the village, the Verdon and the Lac d'Allos chain. A private barbecue is available below.
