Weekend "Trapper Mercantour

An approach hike in a superb valley leads us to the small log cabin that serves as our lodging for the night. An evening meal around a large table and a well-deserved wood-burning stove will give us the strength we need to head back down the mountain the next day, discovering the tracks of nocturnal animals. Unforgettable memories in prospect!

Detailed program :

* Saturday

Welcome on Saturday morning in Saint Martin Vésubie between 9.00 and 9.30 am. Transfer by vehicle to Le Boréon. Preparation for departure, individual equipment (snowshoes, poles and arva).

This first day's hike takes us along snow-covered paths through unspoilt wilderness to a small private refuge hidden in the mélézin. Shortly after setting off, your guide will introduce you to the use of avalanche transceivers. Arrival at the refuge at around 4pm, where we enjoy a hot drink. Settle in and prepare a meal together.

* Sunday

After breakfast and packing up, it's time to clean up! The return journey follows the same itinerary, but it's an opportunity to realize that, particularly in winter, the same environment and its landscapes appear completely different depending on whether you discover them on the way up or on the way down!

This day will be an opportunity toobserve the tracks left in the snow by the occupants of the woods and to understand the adaptations of living beings to winter conditions.
