Weekend "Escapade Nature Mercantour

Audience: Ideal for everyone, especially families, accessible to all from age 7.

* Saturday

Welcome on Saturday morning at Saint Dalmas de Tende at 9:00 am (minibus pick-up from Nice possible). Transfer by vehicle to Lac des Mesches. Depart on foot for our accommodation, a 20-minute walk away. We'll be staying in a former mining village called "Neige et Merveilles".

Luggage drop-off and collection of lunch packs, then off to a wilderness area in search of Mercantour wildlife. This will also be an opportunity to discover ancient Italian military fortresses. Return to Neige et Merveilles in the afternoon to relax. Meal and overnight at the gîte.

Effective walking time: 4 h 30 - 700 m ascent

* Sunday

After breakfast and packing up, return to our vehicle. Short vehicle transfer (10 mns) to Casterino.

Gentle ascent along a wild trail to the Fontanalbe archaeological area. You'll discover a sumptuous site featuring glacial lakes and a large cirque, not forgetting the presence of numerous engravings dating back to the Bronze Age, which we'll be happy to comment on. Descent to Casterino for 4 p.m. and end of stay.
