Ecogîte de Villeplane

From the charm of Provence to the grandeur of the Alps!

In the Mercantour National Park in the southern Alps, the commune of Guillaumes is home to a little-known treasure: the red gorges of Daluis and its nature reserve, a Natura 2000 protected site. And, at the end of a spectacular little road, you'll discover the hamlet of Villeplane with its brand-new ecogîte at an altitude of 1250 m, nestled on the lavender and thyme-filled slopes of Mont Saint Honorat (2520 m).

This protected area is a lively place for pastoralism, hunting and fishing. Reconciling these different activities and managing visitor numbers are priorities on this site, where a wide range of outdoor sports can be enjoyed: hiking, family trekking with donkeys, mountain biking, canyoning, bungee jumping, etc.

Travelling in the Mercantour is a constant source of amazement and wonder. These grandiose landscapes offer a succession of lakes, passes, peaks and gorges.

This charming, comfortable ecogîte serves meals made from local mountain produce, including local cheese, organic bread, garden vegetables and vegetarian dishes on request.

For nature lovers, we also offer two traditionally furnished alpine yurts, imported directly from Mongolia. They are nestled in an island of greenery, buried under flowers and "piboules".
