In the Alps, near the Arche pass at 1800 m of altitude, the Chalet du Germas is a haven of peace, harsh in winter, mild in summer. In addition to the snow activities and the observation of the marmots of Lauzanier, in spring and during the summer Jacques and Anne-Marie organize days of discovery of wild plants, cooked and tasted on the spot.

The Chalet du Germas is a haven of peace, harsh in winter, mild in summer, serene in spring, and explosive in autumn with its colors. It's surrounded by mountains and peaks, hence the name "Le Germas" opposite the gîte, at 2750 m altitude.

The Chalet du Germas guest house is located in Maison Méane, a hamlet perched at 1800 m in the commune of Larche (04), 30 minutes from Barcelonnette and the ski resorts of Vars, Pra-Loup, Le Sauze and Sainte-Anne.

15 mn from Maison Méane, the commune of Jausiers, starting point for the Col de la Bonnette, Europe's highest road (2802 m).

10 minutes from Maison Méane, Italy, the Col de Larche (or Col de la Madelena) and its typical villages..

Maison Méane is also the starting point for numerous hikes, ski tours and snowshoe hikes, as well as access to numerous mountain lakes (accompaniment possible, if required). In addition to snow activities, in spring and summer, Jacques and Anne-Marie organize wild plant discovery days, which are then cooked and tasted on site.
