Right in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, in the mountain pastures with extraordinary panoramic views of the Vanoise glaciers and peaks at over 3,000 m. A week of discovery at every turn: glacial lakes, moraines, glaciers, alpine meadows, flora and fauna, agro-pastoralism, the rudimentary architecture of alpine houses, will be the stories told throughout your stay.

Each day features a unique hike, often off the beaten track. Valleys, perched plateaus, passes, summits... you'll pass from one slope to the next, crossing immense spaces in remote, wild places, contemplating grandiose panoramas of the Vanoise glaciers. In the heart of unspoilt wilderness, you'll enjoy an unforgettable experience. As the days go by and the stories unfold, you'll discover the richness of the unspoilt area in which we'll be staying for a whole week. An ideal getaway from everyday life.

Day 1: Walking time: 6 H - Distance: 12 km - Altitude difference: + 1 452 m / - 380 m.

Welcome at the Maison de la Vanoise in Termignon. After a presentation of the trip and the day's hike, you can choose to start the hike from Termignon, which starts in the village along the old paths leading up to the mountain pastures, with some very pretty trails, in the shade of the Pin Cembro, Arole, Pin à Crochet and Spruce forests, before arriving in the mountain pastures where we'll spend the night. Or take the shuttle bus to a parking lot at a higher altitude for a gentler first day's hike, with less ascent. We'll be in the mountain pastures, with magnificent panoramic views over the week's route, before reaching our overnight accommodation. Walking times and gradients will be halved.

Day 2: Walking time: 7 H - Distance: 12 km - Elevation gain: + 844 m / - 876 m.

A beautiful climb, partly in the shade, to reach the glacial moraines of the Little Ice Age, and an extraordinary view of the glaciers, perched plateaus where we may come across a shepherd and his flock of sheep, lakes at almost 3000 m. A 360° panorama of the peaks. Descent to the refuge through scree and alpine meadows. Variant possible with less ascent.

Day 3: Walking time: 6 H 30 - Distance: 12 km - Difference in altitude: + 572 m / - 799 m.

Steady progress along the mountainside to reach a pass with a view of the glaciers of Grande Casse, Savoie's highest peak (3,855 m), and descent into a lovely valley. Observation of stony glaciers. Splendid panorama of the Vanoise glaciers. Nice descent and ascent into the Vallon pastures before reaching the refuge. Gentler option available.

Day 4: Walking time: 8 H - Distance: 16 km - Difference in altitude: + 1,068 m / - 895 m.

From the alpine meadows, we join moraines at the edge of glacial lakes, to the foot of the glacier, a very mineral day close to the high mountains. Ibex are close to the trail and marmots are watching us. Numerous geological features can be seen along the way, before we return to the refuge for a welcome rest. Variant with less ascent possible.

Day 5: Walking time: 5 H - Distance: 9 km - Ascent: + 334 m / - 1330 m.

On this last day, we'll take a lovely balcony route, with little climbing and a beautiful descent into the mountain pastures, where we'll come across a shepherd and his flock, and then into the areas where the forest closes off the landscape. Numerous alpine chalets line the day's trail, before we return to our starting point.
