Hybrid boat trip - In the heart of Port-Cros National Park

Their idea?

To discover the environment that surrounds us on a human-sized boat, to encourage human contact, while limiting our environmental impact as much as possible.

Cousins from Hyero, and like brothers, they conceived and created Latitude Verte together.

Nicolas, 40, is a computer engineer by training:

I created my company in 2006. But I've always been passionate about the sea, and I wanted to live on the water like Guillaume... So in 2018, I dropped everything, sold my company and went back to school to become a sailor.

Guillaume, 35 years old, with a vocational training certificate in naval mechanics, obtained his captain's diploma in 2006 and embarked as a fisherman in the West Indies. He then worked in towing, passed the Captain 500 and had two experiences in yachting in Monaco and Hyères.

But I wanted to be independent, to create my own business..

They discovered the concept developed by the company ODC which manufactures hybrid boats for professional passenger transport. These are 100% recyclable aluminum units powered by a hybrid thermal/electric engine and soundproofed. The hull paints are solvent-free, the lighting low consumption, there is selective sorting on board, and "O₂" which welcomes people with reduced mobility, has adapted sanitary facilities.

It was this boat that showed us the way to make our project a reality, and we fought to defend it.

Because the fight was long and hard..

It is in the air of time, it seems essential to do it... but in reality it is the opposite: all doors are closed!

Despite everything, Latitude Verte was created in May 2018 and the activity launched in July 2019. And tenacity pays off:

From our first season, the feedback from customers has been very rewarding. They appreciate the human contact and the serenity brought by electric propulsion. We understood that we had made the right choice!
