On 550 hectares, the Pesquiers salt marsh located in the heart of the Double Tombolo of the Giens peninsula in Hyères is one of the most remarkable natural areas of the Var coast.

This guided tour by Charlotte will plunge you into the history of salt and its exploitation from antiquity to the dawn of the 21st century, with the salt-making buildings that mark the spirit of the place and remind us of its rich industrial past that has largely marked the history of the city of Hyères, without forgetting the hard work of the men who produced this "white gold".

Today, after the departure of the last farmers, nature has reclaimed its rights and offers a superb refuge for birds in the heart of the Giens peninsula, and a specific flora acclimatized to lagoon environments.

À la rencontre de...

Born in Toulon, Charlotte Grégoire de Bollemont has a passion for nature. With a BTS in tourism in her pocket, she set up her own company at the age of 24 to develop hiking in all its forms locally. As a guide-interpreter, she quickly turned to event tourism with companies.

We had the opportunity to organize a seminar with leisure activities, that did not exist, we continued in this way and developed original offers.

Our priority is always to make visitors aware of the environment and encourage them to respect it. Today, the businesswoman, who has never stopped working as a field guide, has returned to her first love by creating Les Balades de Charlotte in 2016.

I wanted to go towards what is closest to my heart: to combine hiking and public awareness of the exceptional territory that we are helping them discover. I have a deep attachment to Porquerolles.
So I developed new products: wellness hikes, fun hikes... And I'm having fun!

More than ever a fighter, curious, and driven by the desire to share her passion, Charlotte always has a project ahead of her. The latest one?

I'm working on a five-day trip to discover the territory of the Port-Cros National Park, from Cap Lardier to Le Pradet, passing by Port-Cros, Porquerolles, the peninsula and the Colle Noire.

To be continued!
