The traces that are drawn in the middle of the Guadeloupean forests are doors of entry towards an exceptional nature and landscapes while being often marked by the cultural History of the island. To survey them accompanied by a guide will allow you to seize all the beauty of it.

It is with this will that Yoann Jaffré, state-certified guide and passionate about ecology, practises his job. He will do his best to make your hike pleasant and instructive while ensuring your safety. During your excursion, he will suggest many stops to enhance your outing with explanations on the environment that surrounds you. Botany, geology, history... Hike on the trail of the Neg' Marrons :

Hike through the rainforest on the heights of Petit-Bourg on the traces marked by the Guadeloupean slavery history. After an approach walk, you will arrive near the only vestiges of Neg'marrons' huts known to this day in Guadeloupe, before making a detour by the Moustique river to visit a magnificent natural site. This loop will allow you to vary the pleasures: you will approach the ecology with the observation of the functioning of the humid forest; you will be transported by the history of Neg'marrons, these slaves having fled to obtain their freedom; and you will savor a moment of relaxation by a bath in river.

Duration of the trip : 4h

Rates 35€ for adults, 20€ for children.

Difficulties: the 180 m difference in altitude and the 4 km distance do not necessarily reflect the real difficulty of this trail which should be classified as "average". In fact, almost all the difference in altitude is concentrated in a short section with some tricky passages. Given these elements, this hike should be reserved for people in good physical condition, without major physical problems (breathing, balance, heart, etc).

During his various experiences abroad, Yoann Jaffré tried to understand the functioning of nature and the relationships that unite living beings in a perfect symbiosis. Upon his arrival in Guadeloupe, he set out to discover the tropical forest, the green mountains, the traces of the coastline full of history, the waterfalls and the rivers. The riches of the archipelago are offered to him.

Since 2014 with Symbiose Caraïbes, he accompanies nature lovers on several traces by bringing another look, that of the investigator who strives to understand the functioning of the different elements of nature and the synergy that bring the whole together in a unifying element.

Between botany, geology, ecology and ornithology, you will discover the National Park of Guadeloupe differently, by taking paths unknown to the general public and by learning a little more about the singularities of the tropical forest. Between the majestic Vieille Dame, the impressive Chute du Galion, the unavoidable Chutes du Carbet, the historical Trace des Nèg Marrons and many others, Yoann Jaffré will explain the role of the volcano, the peculiarities of the plant kingdom or the culture of Guadeloupe through places full of history.
