The Canal de l'Adroit, a journey through time and history

From the balcony path overlooking the magnificent fortified village of Colmars les Alpes, Christiane will show you how life used to be, and how man managed the mountain environment.

This ancient canal, begun in 1863, originated in Allos. It joined Villars-Colmars and was used to irrigate cultivated plots to meet the growing food needs of the upper valley's inhabitants.

Gradually abandoned after 1920, this historic structure is still perfectly visible.

Today, this hike is a gentle way to get back into shape while enjoying the beauty of the landscape and the breathtaking views over the medieval town.
