Auberge du Lac d'Estaing

The Auberge du Lac d'Estaing is located at an altitude of 1,171 meters, in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, close to the Lac d'Estaing. Mélanie and François warmly welcome their guests and invite them to savor their authentic, gourmet cuisine, prepared using their own produce and that of neighboring local producers.

We use only products from our own farm, all raised and prepared in-house. We make it a point of honor to offer gourmet, family-style cooking, all cooked over a wood fire with 100% local produce. One of our signature dishes is the stuffed piglet, raised on our premises. It's cooked at a low temperature, then baked a second time in the charcoal oven, and that's our little extra.

They raise black pork, Gascon cows, lamb and poultry, including the black Astarac hen. All their animals are free-range.

Our animals are in barns in winter, and in summer, we transhumance our pigs and cows to meadows all around Estaing. We are very close to our animals. We're lucky enough to have time to enjoy our animals during the day, which is very important to us.

We're lucky enough to have fairly extensive meadows in Estaing where our cows can roam freely, and woods where our pigs have runs.

They joined Esprit parc national in 2023.

We've asked to be closer to the National Park because we're in a commune in the heart of the National Park. We are keen to develop the educational aspect, thanks to our privileged geographical location. In everyday life, we're lucky enough to see all the wild animals that the National Park protects. So it was an obvious choice to try and integrate Esprit parc national.

Esprit parc national brings us recognition, shared values and a network, bringing together a large number of like-minded people. And it's a pleasure to be part of it.
