Fond des fours refuge

"The job of refuge keeper is a passion, that we like to share and discover. We work in the spirit of the park, favoring eco-responsible actions. We use in priority local, organic and biodegradable products. The unique setting that the mountain provides allows us to be more sensitive, more in tune with nature and our senses ... The menu is small, but the products are fresh and often brought to the back of Man! You can eat or drink at any time of the day. The meals are prepared on the spot by Claire, from organic and local products in priority. Beer, wine, syrups, cheese, bread, and cold cuts all come from Savoie. The refuge is powered by solar panels, but there is an emergency generator on site in case of bad weather. Be careful, the dormitory chalet has no light, so don't forget your headlamp! Waste is sorted and minimized as much as possible: it is carried down on the backs of men throughout the season. So don't hesitate if you "go down to the valley" to bring a small trash can!

The refuge belongs to the Vanoise National Park and is located at an altitude of 2,537m. It is composed of three Chaloin chalets located in a green valley; a refectory chalet with a kitchen; sanitary facilities with a free cold shower, two toilets and two washbasins; and a chalet divided into two dormitories of 18 and 20 places. There is also a dry toilet on the site, a little out of the way, but perfectly accessible. You will find at your disposal, games, a library, blankets, comforters, pillows but for reasons of hygiene and comfort, please bring a sheet (meat bag). Bivouacs are allowed near the refuge, ask the warden! The refuge is open and guarded from mid-June to mid-September.
