Wool, an extraordinary journey - school audience

We will discover the job of a breeder: his life, his herd, his mountain.

We will focus on the wool which is a link between men and nature, because working with this material is a sustainable development approach where the preservation of our environment goes hand in hand with the local economy and men.

The Val d'Aulon, with its Nature Reserve, under the eye of the lammergeier will allow us to unwind the thread of wool.

Topics covered :

Mountain flora and fauna (by different means: tales and legends, grandmother's secrets, scientific...)

The mountain (living conditions, its stories...)

Landscape reading (through different approaches: history of landscapes, drawing, map reading)

Cultural heritage (discovery of the village of Aulon, farms, barns...)

The Pyrenean National Park, its missions (guided visit of the National Park house in Saint Lary and its exhibitions).
