In the Cévennes National Park, the sky is very pure, which guarantees exceptional observation qualities. During this astronomy escapade in the International Starry Sky Reserve, you will be accompanied by Julien Tauran, astronomy enthusiast and mountain guide.
In a playful and educational way, he will make you discover the universe of astronomy in an exceptional setting. You will start your stay with a bivouac under the starry vault, join the very beautiful astronomical observatory of the lake of Pises and finish your escapade in a lodging nestled in a wild valley. A few days to escape, without light pollution, and take the time to observe the beauties of the earth and the sky.

We welcome you in the village of Aumessas at 4 pm, at the Café de pays. You will leave for a short hike during which Julien will discuss with you the International Dark Sky Reserve, the Cévennes National Park, the terraced cultures and the chestnut trees, or the history of the Cévennes forests. You will reach your bivouac on the majestic Col de Mouzoules, where you will spend your first night of observation. Welcome to our little paradise!

After waking up in the middle of nature, you slip into your hiking boots and leave for a beautiful day alternating the crossing of moors and woods, in the landscapes of Lingas sculpted by the agropastoralism (classified as World Heritage by Unesco). At the end of the afternoon, the sumptuous astronomical observatory of the Pises lake appears, nestled in its green setting. Settle in this exceptional place, in the heart of the Cevennes National Park and the International Dark Sky Reserve, for an evening that should remain engraved in your memory! Yes, you are a real privileged person, enjoy..

You continue your itinerary and leave (with difficulty) the observatory to join the wild valley of the Dourbie. Picnic along a beautiful river where you can bathe and go back down gently to the mas de Marc, where we like to stop for an authentic and local evening. Night in a gîte.
A gentle morning to be imagined as you wish: walk with Julien in the valley, swim in the river or relax on the spot. Transfer back to Aumessas at 2 pm (or to Le Vigan for those who will take a bus).
We do not accept dogs on this hike. A large part of the route takes place in the heart of the Cevennes National Park, which means that your dog will have to be tied up most of the time, not fun for him, but there are still the patous who sometimes cross our roads.
