Specialist of the staircase of art, I also manufacture all traditional and contemporary joineries to measure.

After a ten-year tour de France with the Compagnons du devoir, I set up my own joinery business in 1998, in Vanvey.

Being located in an area rich in top-quality oak wood, I quickly specialized in custom-made joinery such as beautiful entrance doors, traditional windows and staircases in contemporary or classic styles, on request.

For each project, I can offer you different species of wood: I build up my own stock of timber by carefully selecting the trees to be harvested, in agreement with the forestry agents. After cutting the tree myself, I saw and dry it in my workshop. The species of wood currently available are: oak, beech, maple, sycamore, walnut, cedar and lime.

For all my work, I also endeavor, where possible, to forge, renovate or recycle all metal parts in the workshop, such as door hinges, joinery cremone bolts and staircase railings.

Today, there are 2 carpenters working in my company, and we mainly handle orders and projects in Burgundy and South-Champagne, but we also travel from Paris to Lyon.

So we're at your disposal for any creation or renovation project you may have in mind.

À la rencontre de...

In Vanvey (Côte-d'Or), Etienne Rognon is a specialist in art staircases, as well as custom-made traditional and contemporary joinery.

My main activity is building joinery, whether it's French windows or staircases, and I'm much more into contemporary creation for the latter.

In traditional joinery, I'm particularly interested in reproducing entrance doors on old buildings. That's kind of my hobbyhorse!

I settled in Vanvey in 1998 after ten years of apprenticeship. I left when I was 16, in 1987, to come back to the Châtillonais region - Châtillon, which is my home town, then Vanvey, because it's a very pretty village on the banks of the Ource.

For me, the ideal solution was to return to the Châtillonais region as a craftsman and joiner. We didn't know it was going to become a national park, so that's an added bonus for me.

I've had the label since February 2023. For me, the Esprit Parc Nationalbrand is a guarantee of confidence in the environment and in my work .

As far as I'm concerned, I have to cut trees from the National Park. It introduces the idea of a short circuit. That's what I've been doing since the 1999 storm, so for over 20 years now. Since I set up, I've been looking for more ecological, healthier ways to finish my wood.

The Esprit Parc Nationalbrand is all about sustainability, respect for the environment, respect for people and respect for the materials that surround us. I think that the "national park spirit" encompasses all these things. That's what I've been trying to do since I moved here.
