Between lakes and wolves in Mercantour

Level 2 hiking: Average 4 to 5 hours per day on an undulating trail.

The Mercantour National Park offers children a fantastic playground: lakes, rushing torrents and bathing basins. It also boasts incredible wildlife. I promise you, kids, you'll see chamois, marmots, wolves and certainly ibex!

Detailed program:

* Day 1: Welcome at the Boréon gite in the late afternoon.

* Day 2: Discovery of the beautiful larch forest and gradual ascent to the Cougourde refuge. See our first chamois and ibex. Evening in the heart of the mountains, in a superb refuge. Lighter porterage for this night at the refuge.

* Day 3: A pleasant trail leads us to Lac de Trécolpas. Marmots, maybe mouflons, maybe chamois? The descent to the Boréon gîte is through forest. In the late afternoon, visit Parc Alpha and see the wolf packs! Discussions with the center's staff. Settle into your gîte for three nights. Your guide will leave you after the hike.

* Day 4: The wolves and the Alpha center. In the morning, guided tour of the wolf park and wolf-related activities. After a picnic lunch, we'll head for the Cougourde refuge, for an evening in the heart of the mountains. Light portage for this night at the refuge.

* Day 5: Rendezvous with a guide from the Vésubie valley for a 1/2-day canyoning trip in an easy and exotic setting. A guide is with you to share his knowledge with the children. All necessary equipment is provided.

* Day 6: End of our services after breakfast. Why not spend one last day at Europe's largest indoor outdoor activity center. It's a great place to try rock climbing, go canyoning again or take a dip in the huge swimming pool... Or experience one last crazy thrill with the giant zip line at La Colmiane?
