Sunset at the summit

Easy

Rise as the light begins to fade, then descend under the moonlight. In between, let yourself be invaded by the subdued atmosphere of the mountain which passes from light to night. This "between two worlds" is revealed in the colors, sounds and smells. The door then opens on the imaginary and its bestiary, on the beautiful stars and its celestial veil

Climb the path that leads to the Soum Lake through an area of well-preserved barns. From there, Gwenaëlle will give you some explanations on the architecture and the functioning of pastoralism in this area. A little further on, at the level of the last barn, the landscape opens up to offer you a panorama on the main summits that surround you: Montaigu, Pic du midi de Bigorre and Arrens, Pic du Balaïtous and many others.

At the top, Gwenaëlle will make you taste the famous cheese of the country, the traditional pie and herbal teas of the valley. Gwenaëlle will share with you tales and readings of Pyrenees on the theme of the night.

On the way down, you will take the time to observe the moon and the main constellations of the sky. The moonbeam will guide you back to your starting point.

Gwénaëlle Plet is the owner of the rural gite " Les Terres Nères " in Aucun (Hautes-Pyrénées) since 2000 and she is also a mountain guide since 2021, invested in the Mountain Office of the Azun Valley.

Located at the end of a small road, my gite is installed on a park of one hectare, on the edge of the mountain and the forest. The valley has kept its authenticity, with a marked pastoral activity around the manufacture of cheese and a harmony in the traditional building which gives a pleasant unity to the look.

National park spirit, i have been there since the beginning. Previously, in order to follow my convictions, I was classified as a "Panda" gîte and an LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) refuge, and when the initiative National Park Spirit initiative came along, I thought it was only natural that I should be part of it, that I should be part of the adventure. For my second activity as a mountain guide, the path was marked out towards National Park Spirit.

We are also part of a network where synergies can be created.

For example, I didn't know the new owners of theAuberge du Pic de Pan, which is located 10 minutes by car and an hour and a half by foot from the gîte. We met following a carpooling proposal to go to a training course National park spirit ! While discussing, we said to ourselves why not work together as we are both beneficiaries of the National Park Spirit ?

With my clients at the gîte, I suggested that we leave in the early afternoon, to go up to the Bordères pass by a small path and then have dinner at the inn before watching the sunset at the Prédouset peak, a magnificent spot, and coming back down at night under the sky.

So we created this service and it gave me other ideas. On my website, there is a new section called "good plans" where you can find this outing and others like a good plan "eco-poetic" in connection with a festival in Val d'Azun or a good plan "Nordic" with the Nordic bath installed at the gite.
