Trained as a mountain leader, Jean-Jacques Daubert is passionate about the Alps. In contact with nature, flora and insects, he naturally turned to beekeeping and converted to organic farming. He produces mountain and forest honey, not to mention delicious honey and honey/propolis sweets, stamped "Esprit Parc National - Ecrins" Esprit parc national - Ecrins.
I'm in the Hautes-Alpes département between Briançon and Gap, in the foothills of the Ecrins, near the village of Châteauroux-les-Alpes.
My main activity is as a professional beekeeper. When the National Park team rolled out the Esprit parc nationalbrand , they came to meet me as I was already on their territory and they were already aware of my activities.
Theidea behind the Esprit parc nationalbrand is to find people in the region who work in different fields, and to convey the ideas of the National Park, with all its links to biodiversity and environmental protection. As a beekeeper, I'm looking for this kind of environment. It's conducive to trying to produce honey that reflects the values of the National Park.
In the life of the National Park, there are human beings too, and we're ultimately part of that life. If we preserve these landscapes, it's because we also benefit from them. In other words, quality in terms of production and environmental quality of life.
I've been an ambassador since the brand was launched, in 2015! I'm still an ambassador today, and I think I'll remain one for a few years to come.
